Impact Training: Building a credible Impact story for Start-ups & Ventures

Impact has become a decisive factor in venture funding: impact capital (AUM) has grown to roughly €1.6 trillion, yet less capital actually reaches impact-first companies. That gap is an opportunity: ventures that can substantiate their impact with numbers, not just claims, stand out with investors, customers, and talent. In this hands-on training, Dune Partners, an Amsterdam-based impact advisory firm, shares 15 years of market experience on how start-ups can build a credible, quantified impact story.

What makes a venture truly impactful? Why do impact investors look for intentionality, additionality, significance, and measurement, and how do you translate your mission into a story and numbers that hold up in due diligence and strengthen your valuation?

Join us for an interactive session on:

  • What impact really is: the four characteristics that define impact, and why it is fundamentally different from ESG or sustainability
  • Why impact measurement matters: speaking the language of impact investors across the investment lifecycle, from due diligence to exit
  • How to build your impact story: connecting revenue to impact, Theory of Change, global frameworks (SDGs, Planetary Boundaries), thematic lenses, and third-party validation
  • Impact quantification in practice: a real (anonymised) case where impact was quantified and monetised; insight into the economic value unlocked per €1 of revenue
