SustainaLab Books: Decentralized Hydrogen with Gerd Junne

Gerd Junne is coming to SustainaLab to present his book ‘Waterstof NL. Een pleidooi voor een decentrale toepassing’ (Hydrogen NL. A plea for decentral application) on the state of affairs of hydrogen in the Netherlands and expected developments.

Junne held the chair of International Relations at the University of Amsterdam (Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences) for three decades. He published several books on the introduction of new technologies and their international ramifications.

During this 90 minute seminar, Prof. Junne will discuss the ambiguous impact of the wars in Ukraine and in the Middle East on the prospects of green hydrogen and how the energy transition triggers a broader paradigm change in our economies. This seminar will also cover the reasons behind fluctuating interest in hydrogen, how hydrogen relates to energy intensive processes and heavy industry, how multinational companies look at hydrogen, and how much room there is for decentral production of hydrogen.

During and after the seminar there will be time to ask questions and have a chat with other attendees while having a drink. More information about Gerd Junne and his book can be found here.
